About Jon

Jon has been a keen musician since the age of 11, when he first started performing in bands as a bass player or rhythm guitarist, and backing vocalist. Throughout his teens, Jon performed with many genre's of bands from Folk Music to Classic Pop/Rock to Heavy Metal. Eventually he began to put the instruments down as his wide range of vocal versatility made him a sought after Vocalist.

By 2004, it had become obvious that most venues and events preferred to hire solo acts rather than full bands, so Jon decided to go solo. Since then he has been a regular on the Manchester / Lancs / North Wales Pub, Club and Holiday Park circuits.

Jon is a sought after Wedding and Function singer. His ability to cater his setlist in order to please everyone in the audience makes him a popular choice. Setlists can include a wide variation in artists including Van Morrison, The Beatles, Elvis, Bobby Darin, The Tempatations, Tom Jones, Elton John, The Commitments, Otis Redding, The Blues Brothers, Wilson Pickett, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Lionel Ritchie all the way through to Bryan Adams, The Darkness, Mika, Scissor Sisters, The Kooks, Take That, Robbie Williams, Cee Lo Green, Bruno Mars, etc.

Jon also performs in a male/female duo called Soul Shakedown with Kathleen Button playing Soul/Blues and other genres. This includes live saxophone and guitars and can include acoustic numbers.

Jon usually performs with self-contained backing tracks. However he can also perform with a live backing band (Brother Funk) if required.

Jon is primarily based in North Wales, but also has a base in Lancashire. However, he will travel anywhere! Please note that Jon is an English speaker and regrettably, does not perform any Welsh music.
